About Us

Random Canyon Riding Program offers the unique opportunity for persons with special needs the chance to learn how to horseback ride or receive therapy on the back of a horse.

Random Canyon Riding Program began in 1984 with one horse and one instructor.  The program grew to four teachers (physical therapist, occupational therapist, riding teacher and special educator) with 30 students before closing in the 1990′s.  In July 2005 it was reestablished with two horses and two instructors (physcial therapist and riding teacher) and five riders and has continued to grow in 2011.

We offer riding lessons to individuals of any age. We are located in Snyder County and serve all the surrounding counties. Students are required to provide a physician’s approval before participating in the program.

Activities are held at:  The R.E.D. Farm, 15 Costenbader LN, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.  570-374-7322

Our riding program runs ten months out of the year. Most classes are held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings with other individual lessons during the week.

I am 65 1/2 years old and I am interested in learning to ride so maybe in a few years my 6 year old granddaughter can learn and we can ride together. I attend Curves and someone there suggested you, saying that you also give lessons to non-handicapped people. You also may know my son Bill who brings his client Mary to you frequently.
I didn’t see a phone number so that is why I am writing you.
Hope to hear from you soon,
    Barb Hoffman
